a daisy in the tulips
The Dodd family signed up for my Spring Floral mini sessions and got to do a family photoshoot at the Roozengaarde Tulipe Fields in Mount Vernon. I've only photographed this family twice, but they are always such a light and breath of fresh air. They drove down to Tacoma from Mount Vernon for my Rose Garden minis last summer, and I'm always so grateful when clients are willing to go the extra mile to work with me. Thankfully, this year I was able to work with them in their own town. It is true that time really flies because the differences just one year can make is astounding. Daisy can fully walk now, she's growing into those cute cheeks, and even Haley and Nick have grown as parents! It's my greatest pleasure to witness and document those changes for you.
You wouldn't know it from looking at these photos, but Daisy was not wanting to do anything but be held by dad and grip onto their car key fob. It might feel stressful to take family photos, especially when your child isn't behaving perfectly, but that's not real life, and not what you are going to want to remember. Chaotic energy and true personalities are what bring the magic to your photoshoot. You'll look back and remember something more than just how you stood there and smiled for the camera.
It was a busy day at Roozengaarde Tulip Field so to further avoid the crowds; we decided to take photos with the Daffodils instead. The light yellow went perfectly with Haley's outfit and allowed Daisy's lilac outfit to be the focal point of the photos. Her little curls, the matching Hunter boots with mom, and the comfort of a thumb are just a few details I made sure to highlight in their gallery. There will come a day when Haley and Nick will be so thankful they get to see and remember those little details of their little girl at this age.
If you're looking for a Mount Vernon family photographer or want to give your mom the perfect gift, sign up for my Spring Floral minis at Christianson's Nursery on May 17th here.
