Kaylee and John got married at IslandWood: a 250 acre environmental education nonprofit that ensures Washington children have access to meaningful nature-based learning. How cool is that?! These two value quality time with their friends and family and wanted to make sure that they were able to spend their wedding weekend with those they love most. Islandwood has four rustic Northwest lodges, so all of Kaylee and John’s wedding guests got to stay on property together for the whole weekend! Everyone got to slow down and truly celebrate their marriage over three days - all in one place! They started the weekend with a welcome dinner (followed by a campfire and s’mores of course), outdoor activities and lunch on the actual wedding day, and a brunch to end it all on Sunday. My team, First Person Pictures Video and Kaylee and John were golf carted around the expansive grounds by the Islandwood team in order to get to all of the photo locations. We truly would not have been able to get to this beautiful tree house without them! Afterwards, it was time to say the "I Do's", and these two - being the thoughtful and intentional people they are - saved dried flower petals throughout their whole relationship. Talk about forethought! They bagged up petals from birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, etc and had their guests toss them into the air as they walked together as husband and wife, for the first time. It was so joyful and symbolic as they were stepping out of this old chapter and walking into the new one by giving credit to all of those years and thoughtful moments that they had shared throughout their time together. I couldn’t get over it when they told me about it, and I still haven’t gotten over it now!
