I don't need to tell you that planning a wedding can be stressful. However, part of my job is to find ways to make your planning process easier, less stressful, and more fun! It can take time to find your wedding photographer - one who has an editing style you love, one who creates art that you connect with, and someone who offers everything you need. Something that most couples are looking for at the very start is a photographer to capture their engagement photos so they can announce their engagement or to get started with sending our their Save The Dates. Rather than having to reach out to different photographers, or needing to consider whether an engagement photoshoot is even in the budget, I wrap everything into a nice package with a bow so once you book me once, you've booked me for everything! You can move on to the next step and get ready to get your pictures taken!
To Connect With You
The next reason that I insist that we do your engagement shoot together is to meet you! The most fun thing about being your wedding photographer is being able to be by your side for the whole day, but that also means that you're going to have me next to you for your whole day, so it's better that you consider me a friend and safe space. It's much easier to get much more natural shots from you on your big day when I already know you a little bit and how you and your partner behave in front of the camera.
You are also most likely not used to having a camera in your face when you're loving on and kissing your partner, so your engagement shoot is a good time for you to get used to that. Your wedding day is already nerve wracking enough, so it's better to prepare yourself as much as possible, and getting you acquainted with the camera will help relieve some of that stress which will also help in getting better photos!
To Make Your Wedding Gallery Even Better
During your engagement shoot, I will be helping you learn how to best pose and behave in front of the camera. As I said before, you're probably not used to being in front of the camera so taking what you learn from our session into your wedding day can help immensely! It will not only build your confidence (which will make your smile bigger, brighter, and more beautiful), but help us work together quicker and increase the amount of variety in your gallery!
