Experience

here's what to expect
STEP 01

Fill out the form

The best way to contact me for a wedding/photoshoot is through my inquiry form on my Contact page right here on my website. Fill that out to the best of your ability and I will respond just as soon as I'm done doing my happy dance!

STEP 02

Call or email

We'll either chat over email or on a phone call to make sure all of your questions are answered and that I understand what your expectations are for your photos. I always want us to be equally as excited to work together, so think about what is important to you and let's chat about it!

STEP 03

lock in your date

Once you're ready to move forward, I'll send over the invoice and contract. For weddings, you'll make a $1,000 non-refundable deposit to hold your date on my calendar. For any other photoshoot, you'll make a $100 non-refundable deposit. Once the deposit is paid and the contract is signed, congratulations, you've booked your photographer!

STEP 04

engagements + bridals

If you have an engagement or bridal session to schedule then we'll also get that on the books. I'll send you my location and styling guide so you and the photos will look perfect. If you have a vision, please tell me. I want to know it all!

STEP 05

connection call

One month out from your wedding date, we'll hop on a phone call to go over all the wonderful details of your day, and make sure we're both on the same page. In the meantime, I'll send a couple questionnaires to   get to know you a bit better, and to collect all the necessary information that I need. Feel free to send me all of your inspiration and photo dreams! This call only applies to weddings.

STEP 06

picture day

It's the big day! I'll get there earlier to scout out the location and get the lay of the land. We'll both be excited to capture the magic we've been talking about, and it will be so much fun!

STEP 07

sneak peeks

Within 48 hours I will send you the allotted number of sneak peek photos so we can both jump up and down over how beautiful they look!

STEP 08

final gallery delivery

After tediously going through your photos and making sure I'm happy with them, I'll finally send them your way to enjoy for years to come. For weddings, I'll deliver the remaining photos within 1 month. For other photoshoots, I'll deliver the remaining photos within 2 weeks.

FAQ

what is a bridal photoshoot?

A bridal photoshoot is a way for you to get the absolute most out of your dress by getting stress free photos in the location of your choice. This type of session is very common in other states, but hasn't quite made it's way up to Washington yet, so I'm doing my best to introduce it because I think they are so amazing! Couples sometimes use this opportunity to do their first look so it's completely private. Then, you'll have even more couple photos in your wedding outfits! If you have more questions, feel free to reach out. These are some of my favorite sessions to do!

Are the travel expenses included in your packages?

I have home bases in Anacortes, Renton, and Ellensburg so any wedding or location close to these cities are included in my pricing. Anything outside of these areas will require a small travel fee to cover gas. Out of state weddings will receive a custom quote that will will include airfare, lodging, and car rental costs. I'll do my best to keep it low because I love when I get the opportunity to travel!

Can you recommend any good locations?

Absolutely! I'm lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in Washington state (Anacortes) so there are plenty of options, no matter what you're looking for. I did grow up and work just outside of Seattle, so I'm also familiar with locations in the city and in Tacoma. Just tell me what kind of vibe you're looking for and I'll give you some options. I also send you my location guide in case you need some ideas!

What if the weather is bad on the day of an outdoor shoot?

Ah, the joys of living in Washington. The rain is something that we have to live with for most of the year and it can be tricky to schedule a session around it. I usually luck out with weather *knock on wood* but if it's looking like it will rain on your session date, we have some options. We can embrace it if it's only going to be a drizzle, you can utilize my cute bubble umbrellas, or we can shift the timing / reschedule for a different day for no additional cost.

what should i wear to my photoshoot?

My best advice is to think about what season you'll be shooting in and what location you'll be photographed in. Most of the time, that takes care of what materials and colors to gravitate towards. I will send a customized styling guide that is based on the location you've picked so that will help as well. I'll ask you to send me photos of your outfits so I can give any advice, and plan your poses to further flatter the clothes you picked! Most importantly, choose clothes that you feel comfortable in and best flatter your body type.

why should i add on a second shooter?

Second shooters are so fabulous and can really elevate your wedding gallery. I cannot be in two places at once, so second shooters solve that problem for me. They are able to be with the other party while I'm taking photos of you getting ready, they will be getting all of the different angles during your ceremony, photographing your cocktail hour if we are off taking photos during that time, and ultimately they are getting all of the shots that I'm not getting! It expands your gallery and makes it possible to tell the whole story of your wedding day.

what if you are unable to make it to our wedding day?

This would only happen if I'm literally dying or someone else is dying, but in case something were to come up, it's best to know what to expect! I'm so lucky to have an amazing community of photographers in the area so I would do my best to bring in someone I trust to replace me for the day. They would then give me the photos they took so I could edit them. You would still receive the editing style that you hired me for. I would then give you a percentage of your original price back to you, since you did not receive the experience you originally paid for.

how would you describe your style of photography?

I have a combination of documentary and editorial styles. I'm great at being a fly on the wall and capturing those candid moments, but I also love to step in and help curate a photo when necessary. I'm always trying to decide between a fun, movement filled photo and a more posed shot, so you'll get a mix of both in your gallery.

I edit my photos according to what your day looked like. If you're getting married in the summer on a beach with bright colors, then your photos will be brighter and more colorful. If you're getting married in the fall with a deeper color palette, then your photos will be a bit moodier with deeper colors and shadows. You designed your day a certain way, and I want your photos to reflect that.
